CycloPlus Dealer Tour
SERIES 2: Episode 6
#WeVisit Cycle Centre, Lenasia
We arrived at Cycle Centre, Lenasia to a warm welcome from owners Mr and Mrs Parbhoo as they were opening the shop at 08:30 sharp. The Parbhoos moved to their current location - in the centre of Lenasia's CBD - in 2000 having run a cycle shop in Western Area from 1964 to 2000.
Mrs Parbhoo, below, was wrapped up warmly on a chilly winters morning
Cycle Centre stocks a fantastic array of brightly painted bikes and parts creating a kaleidoscope of colour.
ffffffffffff
ffffffffffff
During our visit we met customer Mailaka Chusi, a retired sergeant who was stationed with the nearby 221 battalion. His beanie and jacket are an easy giveaway that he now works at VW's Lenasia branch. He jokes that he and his bicycle are good friends as they spend many hours in the week together commuting to work.
Moosa Paindane (below right) has worked with the Parbhoos in the workshop for the past 14 years. He says you never know what will roll into the workshop, which keeps things interesting.
Moosa's eyes light up when we start chatting about his 40 year old wheel truing stand. He is immensely proud of it and it is, without doubt, his favourite tool.
ffffffffffff
"from hand cuffs to grimy grease, we see it all"
~ Mechanic Moosa Paindane describes how no two bikes that enter Cycle Centre's workshop are the same!
Another happy Cycle Centre customer!
Mr Parbhoo says tyres and tubes are his CycloPlus best sellers.
fffffffffff
Thanks for the support Cycle Centre ... see you soon!
