SE2 EP3 CycloPlus Goes Platinum

CycloPlus Dealer Tour
SERIES 2: Episode 3

#WeVisit Cycle Zone, Rustenburg
Located in the heart of the world's biggest platinum reserve, Cycle Zone is owned by Johannesburg born Faried Saloojee who is passionate about providing his customers with unbeatable value for money. Mr Saloojee is assisted at the front of house by Zena Pearson who together form a formidable team.
With a wide spectrum of customers, Mr Saloojee thrives on stocking his store with a variety of products that cater for his diverse customer base. In the end, it boils down to individual interaction he says ... you need to give each person 100% of your attention to ensure they get the best service.
ffffffffffff
During our visit sisters, Chloe and Nikah Trevelyan came to Cycle Zone with their dad, Ben to get tyre liners fitted to their bikes ahead of a family holiday to a nearby game reserve. The girls' excitement and fascination of the workshop was a fantastic reminder of all children's love for riding their bikes!
Holding the fort at the back of the shop are mechanics (from left to right) Godfrey Mazibuko, Yusuf Mdogo and Nic Bester. Yusuf and Nic work in Cycle Zone's two dedicated workshop areas while Godfrey focuses mainly on children's bikes in an adjacent space.

Hailing from Rustenburg, Yusuf has worked at Cycle Zone for 12 years, while Godfrey has been employed for the past 15 years. Nic Bester has been with Cycle Zone for 10 years and is originally from Plettenberg Bay. A former professional road racer, Bester now prefers the adrenaline of enduro mountain biking.
 ffffffffffff
As we made our way around the shop, Abdulhai Aswat, who has been with Cycle Zone for the past 13 years, couldn't hide his love for this hand-made steel Hansom that was built in South Africa in the 80s and still has almost all of the original parts including the skinniest of skinny tyres.
"It's definitely not for sale"
~ Abdulhai Aswat explains that the Hansom is part and parcel of Cycle Zone
Cycle Zone's shelves feature a few golden oldies in terms of product ... like euro-pro team water bottles, Diadora shoes and tubbies.
 fffffffffff
We certainly did not expect to see a lifeguard in Rustenburg. After plucking up the courage to ask him where he worked, it emerged that he had not in fact come straight from the set of Bay Watch, but in fact kept a watchful eye at Sun City's Valley of the Waves. Cowabunga Dude!
Thanks for your time Cycle Zone ... the smiles say it all!!
