Santa Cruz's Heckler E-MTB platform is built to amplify the fun, delivering unrivaled trail agility thanks to its lower link driven VPP suspension layout.
This latest iteration, the Heckler MX is built around Shimano's new and vastly improved EP8 drive unit and sports a mixed wheel size where a 29 inch front wheel ensures optimum traction and roll over while a 27.5 inch rear wheel keeps the chainstay relatively short (at 445mm) ensuring a snappy and easy-to-handle bike on tight, demanding trails.
The new Shimano EP8 motor is 380g lighter than the previous generation E8000 drive unit, has more power (85Nm versus 70Nm), smaller volume (-10%) for greater ground clearance, less drag (50%), more heat resistant, and tuned to give more power in Trail mode. All this means it’s even more capable of tackling longer, tougher rides. Santa Cruz have again used the full Shimano STEPS battery and motor system because it means assured reliability and global aftermarket service.
Limited quantities of the Heckler 8 CC MX will be available exclusively through the Santa Cruz dealer network from January 2021.
