VIDEO SERIES | Santa Cruz and the Syndicate Develop the 8th Generation V10
THE SYNDICATE’S NEXT RACE BIKE – THE EIGHTH GENERATION V10 PROTOTYPE BREAKS COVER IN THEIR NEW SERIES, SHOWCASING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ONE OF DOWNHILL’S MOST LOVED AND MOST WINNINGEST BIKES…
Yes: the eighth generation V10 with VPP™ is faster. But even faster and newer bikes require some extra time for riders to get “back up to speed”. Imagine our surprise, then, when we were faced with something unexpected: the entire Syndicate singing the new V10’s praises straight from the get go. Greg says he’s proud to be part of the development of this build.
The Syndicate will be racing this bike in 2023 and they will continue to develop it throughout the year. Future episodes will dive further into the process of making a world class downhill race bike even faster.
When will it go on sale? No time soon. This is development in plain sight.
Episode one takes us back to just a few weeks after Greg Minnaar won the 2021 World Championship and went to work validating numerous test mules to decide the direction of the next bike. You might be surprised to hear that other suspension designs were tested before Greg settled on VPP™.
Episode two brings us into the room where the bike was revealed to Nina, Jackson, and Laurie for the first time. Then, the team’s test camp in New Zealand where the Syndicate do run after run, sharing what they’re feeling and how the bike is influencing their riding. Finally, they hit their first race of the season: the Australian DH Nationals at Thredbo.
